Home Styling in San Diego
Staging sells a house you are leaving. Styling is for the home you are staying in.

Tell us about your home. We respond within 24 hours.
Most of what gets written about home staging assumes you are about to hand the keys to somebody else. Styling starts from the opposite place. You are staying, and you want the rooms to work properly and feel like yours.
That changes almost every decision. Staging is built to photograph well for a few weeks and appeal to the widest possible pool of buyers, which is why it leans neutral. Styling is built around how you actually use the space, and it can hold your taste, your furniture and your life. We work with what you already own where it earns its place, and we are honest about what does not.
This suits people who just moved in and never finished, people who have lived with a room that has never quite worked, and people who inherited a layout that fights them.
What’s included
- A walkthrough of the space, its layout and how you actually live in it
- An action items checklist you keep, whether or not we do the styling
- Space planning and furniture layout, including what to keep and what to let go
- Mood boards and a color and palette direction for the rooms in scope
- Decor, art and textile selection, sourced to the plan
- Styling day: furniture placed, decor layered, finishing touches
Who it’s for
- Homeowners who moved in and never finished the rooms
- Anyone living with a layout that has never quite worked
- Relocations settling into a new San Diego home
- Homeowners who want a refresh and are not selling
How it works
Consultation, design, style
Three phases, in that order. You can stop after the first one and take the checklist with you.
Consultation
We walk through your home, evaluate its layout and current design, and identify opportunities to refine its beauty, functionality and appeal. You get an action items checklist before we go any further, so the plan is written down and yours to keep.
Design
We develop a design plan that brings your vision to life, selecting colors, furniture placement, decor and styling elements that hold together as one room rather than a set of good individual purchases.
Style
We arrange furnishings, layer decor and add the finishing touches. This is the part that is genuinely hard to do for your own home, because you stop seeing it after a while.
Pricing
What it costs
The consultation is a fixed price. Styling is scoped to the rooms and the work, and quoted after we have seen the space.
Consultation
- Up to a 2 hour consultation
- Walkthrough of layout and current design
- Action items checklist to keep
- Yours to run with, or the starting point if we style
Styling
- Scoped to the rooms and the work involved
- Mood boards, palette and layout plan
- Decor and furnishing selection
- Quoted in writing after the consultation, no surprises
The $200 consultation is a real, fixed price, not a deposit against a bigger number. If you want to take the checklist and do the rest yourself, that is a legitimate way to use it.

Questions
Home styling FAQs
What is the difference between home staging and home styling?
Staging prepares a home to sell. It is neutral on purpose, built to help the widest range of buyers picture themselves living there, and the furniture leaves when the house does. Styling is for a home you are keeping, so it is built around your taste and how you use the rooms, and everything stays. If you are listing, you want our staging services instead.
How much does a home styling consultation cost?
The consultation is $200 for up to two hours. That includes a walkthrough of your home's layout and current design, and an action items checklist you keep. Styling beyond the consultation is scoped to the rooms and the work, and quoted in writing afterwards.
Do I have to buy all new furniture?
No, and you usually should not. Part of the job is working out what you already own that earns its place, what needs to move to a different room, and what is genuinely working against the space. We will be straight with you about which is which.
Can you just tell me what to do and let me do it myself?
Yes. That is what the action items checklist is for. Plenty of people book the consultation, take the checklist and handle the rest on their own. The checklist is written to be usable without us.
Do you style one room or the whole house?
Either. A single room that has never worked is a completely normal project. So is a whole home after a move. The consultation is where we work out the right scope.
What areas do you cover?
All of San Diego County. See our service areas for the cities and communities we work in.
